Online Recognized for Fourth Consecutive Year as a Great Place to Work®

Winnipeg, MB, April 13, 2010 – Online Business Systems announced today that it has been recognized as one of the “Best Workplaces in Canada” for the fourth consecutive year. Companies that make the list also have an opportunity to be singled out for other related special recognition, and Online was one of about ten companies nominated for the “Best Workplaces for Women” award.

“We are proud and honoured to be named one of the ‘Best Workplaces in Canada’ for the fourth year,” says Chuck Loewen, Online’s Founder and CEO. “As you all know, 2009 was not an easy year for most companies, ours included, so this year’s recognition is especially meaningful because it shows that Onliners continue to believe in our company and in our future.”

While Online is proud of achieving this honour for four consecutive years, they firmly believe that the most important aspect is not the award itself – it’s the process the company goes through and the efforts Online and Onliners make to be deserving of the award. Survey results are reviewed and analyzed very carefully every year by Online’s management team and they continually look at ways to improve what they are doing. The company has incorporated many changes over the past four years as a direct result of the information they received from the survey results.

This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled annually by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. The competition process offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
