Online Recognized for Fifth Consecutive Year as a Great Place to Work® 

Winnipeg, MB; Calgary, AB; Edmonton, AB; Toronto, ON; April 12, 2011 – Online Business Systems announced today that it has been recognized as one of the “Best Workplaces in Canada” for the fifth consecutive year.

While Online is proud of achieving this honour for five consecutive years, they firmly believe that the most important aspect is not the award itself – it’s the process the company goes through and the efforts Online and Onliners make to be deserving of the award. Survey results are reviewed and analyzed very carefully every year by Online’s management team and they continually look at ways to improve what they are doing. The company has incorporated many changes over the past five years as a direct result of the information they received from the survey results.

This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada.  The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. This year’s list received over 230 nominations and nearly 44,000 employees participated in the 2011 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
